2016年3月，饱受争议却又承担着众人期待的新SAT，终于在美国揭开了帷幕。新SAT的出现，毫无疑问会给美国留学申请带来诸多变化，比方说美国大学的录取标准以及录取政策，还有中国学生之间的竞争态势。今年一二月的时候，关于美国大学的新旧SAT政策的种种传言甚嚣尘上，有的说美国大学不会歧视旧SAT，有的说有的美国大学更倾向于新SAT，还有的更为耸人听闻，说加州大学伯克利分校不再接受旧SAT。这些传言让2016年的申请者感到迷茫，不知道在接下来的几个月里，是否应该要尝试新SAT，还是转向ACT。我们AADPS的老师在三月份以来，一直致力于查询全美前一百的综合大学和文理学院的标准化考试政策的变化，对于那些在官网上语焉不详的学校，都发送邮件前去询问。
目前我们AADPS的老师已经初步整理出了一百多所学校的新旧SAT和ACT政策，具体情况会更新到我们的官网aadps.net上，也请大家多多关注我们的网站更新。今日的周五话留学，我们放出美国前二十名大学最新的关于新旧SAT的政策，附上学校的“申请问答”的原文和链接，如果原文说得不够清楚，我们会附上学校招生办邮件回复我们老师的内容，帮助大家理解。

Will you combine the highest component scores from the old and new SAT?
No. We will consider the highest component scores from either the old or new test. The two tests are significantly different and therefore we will not combine scores from the two different tests. Likewise, we do not “superscore” the ACT to create a new composite score. We will consider the highest component scores across multiple sittings of the ACT, if the student submits the scores to us via a testing firm.

是否接受旧SAT
We require all applicants to complete the SAT Reasoning Test or the ACT Test with Writing and will accept both the current and the redesigned SAT scores with writing for the foreseeable future. We normally require two SAT Subject Tests. In choosing which Subject Tests to submit, it is more useful to choose only one mathematics test rather than two. Similarly, if your first language is not English, a Subject Test in your first language may be less helpful. You should submit scores from tests taken in the past three years.
While we normally require two SAT Subject Tests, you may apply without them if the cost of taking the tests represents a financial hardship or if you prefer to have your application considered without them. Standardized testing is only one component of our admissions process and your application will be evaluated on the basis of all of the other information that you submit. Starting in March 2016, the College Board will offer a new, redesigned version of the SAT. The test itself may be changing, but the way we use SAT scores in the admissions process will not—they will continue to be used as one piece of a much broader holistic review process.
We will continue to accept scores from the old version of the SAT for the five years scores remain valid, and will superscore within both the old exam and the new, but will not superscore between the two versions. No matter what scores you send, we’ll be considering your best.

We have not announced our policy and/or requirements for the 2017 admission cycle. We expect to have information available on our site regarding the new SAT in the spring.
For students interested in applying to MIT in 2017, and registering for the new SAT - we will accept all test results regardless of format or our final requirements. We will also accept all test results from exams taken before the new SAT.

For example, if you take the SAT Reasoning Test in 11th grade and score 750 in math, 700 in critical reading and 650 in writing, and then take the SAT again in 12th grade and score 700 in math, 650 in critical reading and 700 in writing, only your best scores from each sitting (i.e. 750 in math, 700 in critical reading and 700 in writing) are used in our admissions evaluations.
Students are free to use the College Board's Score Choice option and the ACT's option to submit the scores of your choice as well.

The administration of the new SAT will not affect high school students graduating in 2016. Students graduating in 2017 may submit either the new or old SAT. Duke does not have a preference for either test, but if you choose to submit both, Duke will consider the stronger score as determined by concordance tables. Rice uses the highest scores from any sitting on the SAT in order to consider each applicant's most positive test results. Recognizing that this policy could disadvantage those students who cannot afford repeated testing or expensive test prep coaching, we believe a comprehensive testing history provides us with the appropriate context required for making a fair judgment of what the test scores mean in a holistic admission process. Therefore, we require all applicants submitting the SAT to submit all scores to Rice.
The only definition of a composite score that ACT recognizes is its own definition: an ACT composite is the average of the four multiple-choice scale scores from a single administration of the exam. Therefore, it is Rice’s policy to use the highest ACT composite score in admission consideration.
